Eagles Too Much for Lake-Sumter on the Road
LEESBURG - Freshman DiannMarie Rivera-Romero (San Juan, Puerto Rico) lead the way for the Eagles with 23 kills and five aces, while sophomore Chloe Boehm (Arcadia, FL) dished out 31 assists as Polk State College topped Lake-Sumter Community College in its season opener, 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-21) at Lake-Sumter Sports & Recreation Complex on Tuesday night.
Freshman Ileanuska Maldonado (Puerto Rico) played a solid game in the win with 11 digs.
This victory is the fourth in four season-openers for the volleyball program.
Polk returns to action on Wednesday, Aug. 31, when they head to Ocala, FL to meet College of Central Florida in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
