Eagles Cruise Past State College of Florida Behind Romero

BRANDENTON - DiannMarie Rivera-Romero (San Juan, Puerto Rico) spiked a match-high 21 kills in a 3-2 (26-24, 27-25, 22-25, 22-25, 15-12) victory over State College of Florida at Hal Chasey Gymnasium.

The Eagles picked up their first victory of the tournament with the win.

In addition to Rivera-Romero's 21 kills, she also had 12 digs. Freshman's Ileanuska Maldonado (Puerto Rico) and Yaritza Santiago (Puerto Rico) added 21 and 19 digs, respectively.

Chloe Boehm (Arcadia, Fl.) led all players in assist with 33 and Kahoriz Feliz Florian (Dominican Republic) solid all-around performance with 15 Kill's, 7 digs and 3 blocks.

The Eagles continue tournament play today, when they take on College of Central Florida at 1 p.m.
