Eagles Host Youth Volleyball Camps

The Polk State College women's volleyball team is hosting a summer camps for youth players aged 9 to 18.

The camp is scheduled for July 29-31 in the Health Center on Polk State's Winter Haven campus.

Camps for players ages 15 to 18 are conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while camps for players ages 9 to 14 are held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The camps will be conducted by Polk State's veteran coaching staff and will emphasize fundamentals involved with specific volleyball skills and positions, including passing, serving, ball control, hitting, defense, setting, game situations, blocking, skill review and tournament play.

The fee is $90 per week.

Polk State's volleyball team has enjoyed unprecedented success in recent years, under the leadership of head coach German DelValle. Highlights have included the school's first-ever conference title, back-to-back trips to the state tournament, and signature wins over marquee, nationally-ranked programs.
