Polk Falls to Hillsborough 3-1

The No. 4 Polk State College (10-5/1-1) volleyball team suffered its first Suncoast Conference loss Tuesday, 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 25-12), to No. 1 Hillsborough Community College (13-1/3-0) at the Winter Haven Health Center.

Eagle freshman Shatorreia Edgecombe (Dame) paced Polk with 11 kills.

Freshman middle hitter Cheye Anne Savage (Hudson) scored 10 kills. Freshman Liz Garcia (Idaho) added eight kills.

Sophomore setter Ashley Toth (Edgewater) gave out 37 assists.

Freshman libero Rossanna Rosado (Puerto Rico) tallied 14 digs.

The Eagles host State College of Florida Thursday at 7 p.m. in a Suncoast Conference match.
