Eagles earn road victory against St. Pete

The Polk State volleyball team won on the road tonight, beating St. Petersburg College 25-20, 25-23, and 25-20. 

For the Eagles, Elisabeth Piroli had 46 assists. Zoemy Barreto recorded 19 kills and 10 digs, while Genesis Castillo contributed seven kills and three blocks. 

Rossanna Ramos added 15 digs and an ace. Shatorreia Edgecombe tallied 10 kills, and Laina Blanton added eight. 

The Eagles (4-13) play at home Sept. 30 in a Hispanic Heritage Night contest against South Florida State College.  Fans can meet and greet coaches and players at 5:45 p.m., with the game starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free and El Norteno Restaurant of Winter Haven will provide free tacos.
