Eagles go 2-2 in tournament action

The Polk State Eagles saw their six-game winning streak end Friday at the Florida State College at Jacksonville Tournament.

The Eagles lost to Iowa Western Community College (27-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19) and to Johnson County Community College (26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 10-15).

Today the Eagles came back strong, beating New Mexico Military Institute  (25-20, 25-23, 25-19) and Monroe College (25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19).

Polk State (13-17, 5-1) travels to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game. The teams are tied for first place in the Suncoast Conference.
