Eagles beat Lakehawks in battle of the birds

For the second time in four days, the Polk State Eagles beat the Lake-Sumter State Lakehawks 3-0 in volleyball. 

The Eagles took tonight's match in Winter Haven by scores of 25-13, 25-14, and 25-15. 

Win the victory, the Eagles improve to 4-2 on the season and 2-0 on their home court. 

"We had a good night," said Head Coach German Del Valle. "We were able to bring in some of the players who haven't been playing a lot, and they did a phenomenal job." 

Laina Blanton made seven kills, two blocks, one dig, and one ace. 

Yue Wue had seven kills, seven digs, an ace, and an assist.

Zoemy Barreto contributed five digs, three kills, two aces, and one assist. 

Elisabeth Piroli tallied 10 assists along with four digs and a kill. 

Keisha Santana made 16 digs and two aces. 

Dayanna Teixeira finished with five digs, four kills, one ace, and one assist. 

Alejandra Robles had nine assists to go with three digs, two kills, and a block. 

Suheily Colon made two kills, two digs, and two blocks. 

Madison Wildey recorded seven assists, one ace, and one kill. 

Mariafernanda Bolivar added five kills and three digs. 

Alejandra Sanabria had two digs, one block, and a kill. 

Nicole Boots made seven digs and two assists. 

The Eagles play College of Central Florida on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
