Eagles knock off No. 6 Iowa Western

The Polk State Eagles pulled off a major upset in volleyball today, beating No. 6 Iowa Western 3-0 in the Blinn College 2015 Premier Tournament in Brenham, Texas. 

The Eagles entered the match ranked No. 9 in Florida but unranked nationally. They won 26-24, 25-22, and 34-32. 

Elisabeth Piroli had 40 assists, six digs, two aces, and two kills. 

Yue Wue made 14 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks. 

Dayanna Teixeira recorded 13 kills, 11 digs, three assists, and one block. 

Keisha Santana contributed 10 digs, two aces, and an assist. 

Suheily Colon recorded 11 kills, two blocks, and one dig. 

Zoemy Barreto finished with 13 digs and eight kills. 

Laina Blanton had three blocks and two kills. 

With the win, the Eagles improve to 5-3.
