Eagles top Daytona State on road

Polk State won on the road tonight, beating Daytona State 3-1 in Daytona Beach. 

After dropping the first set to the Falcons 18-25, the Eagles soared back to win the next three (25-18, 25-23, 25-17). 

With the victory, the Eagles improved to 2-0 against the Falcons. 

Yue Wu had 16 kills, 11 digs, two aces, and an assist. 

Dayanna Teixeira made 11 kills, three aces, two assists, and one block. 

Zoemy Barreto added nine kills, eight digs, three blocks, and one ace. 

Elisabeth Piroli collected 42 assists, three kills, and one block. 

Keisha Santana tallied 11 digs and two assists. 

Laina Blanton made three kills and two blocks. 

Suheily Colon recorded six kills and two blocks. 

Nicole Boots had two aces and a dig, while Madison Wildey added two digs. 

Polk State (8-4, No. 6 FCSAA/No. 14 NJCAA) has won two in a row and four of its last five matches, including wins over No. 6 Iowa Western and No. 8 Blinn.

The Eagles return to action with two matches Friday and two more Saturday in the Miami Dade College Tournament.
