Eagles top Eastern Florida for third straight win

Polk State volleyball won its third consecutive match tonight, beating Eastern Florida 3-1 in Melbourne. 

The Eagles dropped the first set 17-25 and then won the next three (25-22, 25-17, 25-16). 

Yue Wu made 14 digs, nine kills, three aces, one block, and one assist. 

Dayanna Teixeira collected 19 kills, eight digs, and three assists. 

Keisha Santana had 14 digs, four assists, and two aces. 

Elisabeth Piroli tallied 20 assists and 10 digs. 

Alejandra Robles made 10 assists, four digs, two kills, and an ace. 

Zoemy Barreto added eight kills, four digs, and a block. 

Suheily Colon recorded five kills, a block, and a dig. 

Laina Blanton and Mariafernanda Bolivar each had two kills and a pair of digs. 

Madison Wildey finished with four digs, four assists, and an ace. 

Nicole Boots made three digs, an ace, and an assist. 

Siena Kelley made three digs while Alejandra Sanabria added a kill.   

The Eagles (13-7, 1-0, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 13 NJCAA) have won four of their last five matches. They resume Suncoast Conference action Oct. 2 when they face St. Petersburg at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
