Down two games to one on the road, Polk State came back to win the final two sets, beating Hillsborough Community College 3-2 tonight in Tampa.
With the win, their fifth straight, the Eagles improve to 3-0 in the Suncoast Conference.
The Eagles struggled in the first set but came away with a 25-22 win.
The Hawks dominated the next two, as the Eagles lost 12-25 and 17-25.
Facing elimination, Polk State responded with a 25-23 win in the fourth set and then soared to a 15-8 victory in the final game.
"Hillsborough played out of their minds," said Head Coach German Del Valle. "They didn't make a lot of mistakes today. They did an excellent job blocking. This is a match that could have gone either way, and I think maybe we got lucky tonight."
Yue Wu led the Eagles with 26 kills, 19 digs, and two aces.
Elisabeth Piroli made 39 assists and nine digs.
Zoemy Barreto recorded 14 digs, eight kills, one block, and an assist.
Dayanna Teixeira had eight kills, five digs, three aces, and three assists.
Keisha Santana tallied 22 digs, two kills, an ace, and an assist.
Suheily Colon finished with six kills and one dig.
Laina Blanton added three kills and a block.
Alejandra Robles made four assists and a dig.
The Eagles (15-7, 3-0, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 9 NJCAA) have won six of their last seven matches. They continue conference play Oct. 8 against State college of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
