Eagles beat Manatees for sixth straight win

Polk State continued its winning ways tonight, beating State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-23) in Winter Haven. 

The Eagles (16-7, No. 1 FCSAA, No. 8 NJCAA) have won six in a row and improved to 4-0 in the Suncoast Conference. 

"It was an awesome performance for these kids," said Head Coach German Del Valle. 

"The Manatees are a good team. When they were down 2-0, I reminded our players that the Manatees won't quit, and they showed that in the third game. They made adjustments, but we made it happen at the end." 

Yue Wu had 18 kills, 10 digs, a pair of aces, and two blocks. 

Dayanna Teixeira recorded seven kills, six digs, three assists, one ace, and a block. 

Elisabeth Piroli made 28 assists along with four digs and a kill. 

Keisha Santana added 18 digs, an ace, and an assist. 

Zoemy Barreto finished with six kills, four digs, a block, and an ace. 

Laina Blanton had five kills and four blocks. 

Suheily Colon tallied four kills and one block. 

Alejandra Robles made five assists and one dig. 

Madison Wildey contributed two digs and a pair of assists. 

Mariafernanda Bolivar added three kills. 

Nicole Boots had two aces, while Alejandra Sanabria made a kill, and Siena Kelley had one dig. 

The Eagles travel to Gainesville on Friday for a 3 p.m. match with Santa Fe.
