Eagles soar to seventh straight win

Polk State went to Gainesville today and left with a 3-0 win (25-14, 38-36, 25-22) over Santa Fe (No. 5 FCSAA, No. 10 NJCAA).  

The Eagles (17-7, 4-0, No. 1 FCSAA, No. 8 NJCAA) have won seven in a row. 

Dayanna Teixeira had 11 digs, nine kills, two assists, an ace and a block. 

Yue Wu recorded 15 kills, 11 digs, three blocks, and a pair of aces. 

Laina Blanton made six blocks, two kills, and two digs. 

Zoemy Barreto tallied 17 digs, five kills, two aces, and one block. 

Suheily Colon added four kills, two blocks, two assists, and one dig. 

Elisabeth Piroli had 30 assists, nine digs, two kills, an ace, and a block. 

Keisha Santana finished with 14 digs, two assists, and a kill. 

Nicole Boots made three digs and an ace. 

The Eagles return to action Thursday against South Florida State College at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
