Eagles to play for third place at national tournament

 Sixth-seed Polk State fell to second-seed Iowa Western 2-3 yesterday in the semifinals of the NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championship tournament in Casper, Wyo. 

Polk State (26-8, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 10 NJCAA) will play eight-seed Santa Fe College (No. 8 NJCAA) for third place tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. 

Kathya Garcia made 25 kills and eight digs. 

Cristina Castillo recorded 44 assist, five digs, two kills, a block, and an ace. 

Yue Wu had 11 digs, 10 kills, a block, and an ace. 

Anilise Fitzi added nine kills and two digs. 

Dominika Nemcova tallied five kills, two digs, and an ace. 

Keisha Santana made 12 digs and two assists. 

Alejandra Sanabria finished with two kills, an assist, and a dig. 

Nicole Boots contributed five digs. 

Aurora Alderman had a kill and an ace.
