Eagles tied for first after 3-2 win over Falcons

Polk State defeated Daytona State 3-2 tonight in Daytona Beach. With the win, the Eagles end Mid-Florida Conference play tied for first place with Central Florida. 

After dropping the first set 23-25, Polk State bounced back to take the next two, 25-14 and 25-23. The Falcons won the fourth set 25-22, but the Eagles soared back to win the final set 15-12. 

Chiara Bosetti led the Eagle attack with 18 kills, 15 digs, three blocks, and an ace. 

Manuela Vargas also had a big game, making 47 assists, 11 digs, and three kills. 

Kathya Garcia had 14 kills, 14 digs, a block, and a pair of aces. 

Anilise Fitzi added 15 kills, three digs, and a block. 

Diana Carranza added 15 digs, six assists, and three aces. 

Weiying Wu finished with nine kills and a block. 

The Eagles (12-4, 6-2, No. 5 FCSAA) travel to Bradenton on Saturday for non-conference matches against Miami Dade College and State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.
