Polk State got a big win tonight.

With a 3-1 victory over Daytona State in Winter Haven, the Eagles won the Mid-Florida Conference tournament and earned a spot in the state tournament.

"Our kids have worked hard every day," said Head Coach German Del Valle. "I'm just happy that I can coach them one more week."

After winning the first set 25-23 and losing the second set 21-25, the Eagles soared back to take the final sets 25-23 and 24-14 before an enthusiastic home crowd.

"I have a lot of respect for Daytona State, the coach and the players," said Del Valle. "It's too bad they're not going to the state tournament with us."

With 28 digs, Chiara Bosetti joined the 25 Dig Club. She also made 11 kills, two blocks, an assist, and an ace.

Kathya Garcia led the Eagles in kills with 14. She added 15 digs, two blocks, and an ace.
