Trailing 1-2, Polk State soared back to take the final two sets, defeating College of Central Florida 3-2 last night in Ocala.

After winning the first set 27-25, the Patriots (No. 6 FCSAA) turned the tables and won the second set by the same score.

Central Florida won the third set (25-21) and needed just one more victory to win the Mid-Florida Conference match on its home court.

Needing to win two in a row, the Eagles did just that, outscoring the Patriots 25-16 and 15-9.

Chiara Bosetti, Mariane Cassiano, Gregna Fuentes, and Aixa Vigil each had a double-double.

Bosetti made 17 kills and 17 digs while Cassiano had 21 digs and 17 kills, Fuentes added 37 assists and 11 digs, and Vigil tallied 17 kills and 15 digs.

Diana Carranza finished with 13 digs, seven kills, and a pair of aces.

Weiying Wu recorded seven kills, two blocks, and two digs.

Alexa Barral contributed four kills, four blocks, and two digs.

Vanessa Tirollo made five digs while Hannah Forbes made two.

The Eagles (14-5, 2-0, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 11 NJCAA) hit the road again Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match at Daytona State College (16-3, No. 5 FCSAA, No. 15 NJCAA).
