Eagles improve to 4-0 in conference

Polk State improved to 4-0 in the Mid-Florida Conference tonight, defeating Eastern Florida 3-0 in Melbourne.

 

The Eagles took the sets 25-22, 25-11, 25-11. 

Chiara Bosetti led the attack with 11 kills and five digs. 

Gregna Fuentes topped the team in assists with 26. She also tallied four digs and an ace. 

Aixa Vigil made nine kills, four blocks, three digs, and an assist. 

Alexa Barral finished with six kills and three blocks. 

Diana Carranza contributed eight digs and four assists. 

Weiying Wu added six kills, six blocks, and two digs. 

Mariane Cassiano had five digs, four kills, four blocks, and an ace, 

Nayeli Vilchez made four assists, two aces, a kill, and a dig. 

Nina Finderle recorded five digs and two blocks.

Hannah Forbes added two digs and an assist while Vanessa Tirollo served a pair of aces.

 

The Eagles (16-5, 4-0, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 9 NJCAA) return to action Oct. 9 for a conference rematch with College of Central Florida (13-11, 2-1, No. 5 FCSAA) in Winter Haven. Polk State won the first meeting between the two teams 3-2 in Ocala.
