Eagles end regular season as undefeated conference champs

Polk State defeated Daytona State 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21) tonight in Winter Haven to end the regular season 6-0 in Mid-Florida Conference play. 

The team clinched the conference championship Tuesday with a win over Central Florida. 

The Eagles (18-5, 6-0, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 6 NJCAA) advance to the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Volleyball Tournament starting Nov. 2 in Bradenton. 

Diana Carranza joined the 25 Dig Club tonight with 34, along with six assists.

Gregna Fuentes hit double figures in assists (33) and digs (11).

Aixa Vigil also achieved a double-double with 17 digs and 16 kills. She also served four aces 

Mariane Cassiano tallied 20 kills, eight digs, and three blocks. 

Chiara Bosetti finished with 10 digs, four blocks, and three kills.

Nayeli Vilchez contributed seven assists, three blocks, and two kills.

Weiying Wu added seven blocks, five kills, and a dig.

Alexa Barral made four blocks, three kills, and a dig.

Nina Finderle had four blocks and two kills while Hannah Forbes made two digs and an assist.

Since Sept. 1, the Eagles have gone 14-2.
