Mariane Cassiano of Polk State has been named a First-Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. 

She is one of only three freshmen on the 15-person team. 

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Cassiano ended the season ranked fourth in kills (395) and kills-per-set (3.76) in NJCAA Division 1, Region 8. 

Her other postseason awards include First Team All-Mid-Florida Conference, First Team All-State, and Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year. 

She also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championship in Hutchinson, Kan.
