Sophs set to soar to new schools

Polk State volleyball players Alexa Barral, Chiara Bosetti, Diana Carranza, and Weiying Wu have signed commitment letters to continue their academic and athletic careers. 

Barral, a sophomore from Apopka, Fla., will attend Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.

Bosetti, a sophomore from Albizzate Italy, chose American University in Washington, D.C.

Carranza, a sophomore form Lima, Peru, selected Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla.

Wu, a sophomore from Beijing, China, will attend Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. 

In their sophomore season, the four players helped lead the Eagles to a Mid-Florida Conference championship, an NJCAA District I championship, and a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championship.
