Undefeated Eagles soar to 10-0

Polk State stayed undefeated today, improving to 10-0 with two victories on the final day of the Daytona State College Volleyball Invitational in Daytona Beach.

 

The Eagles started with a 3-0 win over Pensacola State College (25-16, 25-22, 25-21) and ended with a 3-0 defeat (25-18, 25-6, 25-16) of Palm Beach State College (No. 10 FCSAA).  

Against Pensacola State, Mariane Cassiano led the Eagles with 10 kills to go with seven digs and two blocks. 

Milexa Cardona had a team-high 19 assists along with four digs, three kills, and an ace. 

Aixa Vigil recorded eight kills, seven digs, three assists, and three aces. 

Mariana Donado contributed 10 assists, a dig, and an ace. 

Suared Molina made 12 digs, three aces, and two assists. 

Manuela Ibarguen finished with seven kills and a dig. 

Keren Souza had five kills, a block, two digs, and a pair of aces. 

Nina Finderle tallied six kills, two blocks, and a dig. 

Macarena Flores added two kills, a dig, and a block. 

 

In the match against Palm Beach, Vigil tallied a team-high 10 kills along with six digs, two assists, and a pair of aces. 

Cardona again led in assists with 27. She added five kills, three digs, and two aces. 

Ibarguen finished with eight digs, seven kills, and an ace. 

Flores also had seven kills, and Cassiano made six digs, a kill, and an assist. 

Bahamon contributed six kills, two digs, and a block. 

Donado recorded five assists, three digs, and an ace. 

Molina made nine digs, two assists, a kill, and an ace. 

Finderle added five kills, an assist, and a dig, while Souza made four digs, an assist, and a kill.

 

The Eagles (No. 1 FCSAA, No. 2 NJCAA) rank first in the FCSAA in kills per set )12.50), assists per set (11.79) and block assists (101).  

They return to action Thursday with a 6 p.m. match at St. Petersburg College (No. 5 FCSAA).
