Eagles open conference action with win at Eastern Florida

Polk State improved to 15-0 last night, beating Eastern Florida 3-0 in Melbourne to start Mid-Florida Conference play. 

The Eagles won 25-10, 25-15, and 25-21. 

"It was exciting," said Head Coach German Del Valle. 

"We had an opportunity to play the whole team tonight. We kept our intensity, the bench did an incredible job, and it's good to see all our hard work paying off."  

Mariane Cassiano led the team with 10 kills and added four digs. 

Milexa Cardona recorded 27 assists, five digs, two kills, and a block. 

Suared Molina made 11 digs, three assists, and two aces. 

Aixa Vigil tallied nine digs, six kills, a block, and a pair of aces. 

Keren Souza contributed eight kills, four aces, and three digs. 

Mariana Donado finished with seven assists and an ace. 

Nina Finderle made seven kills, while Valentina Bahamon had four kills and an ace, and Manuela Ibarguen added four kills and two digs.  

The Eagles (No. 1 FCSAA/NJCAA) return to action tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Winter Haven against Central Florida (12-3, 0-1, No. 3 FCSAA, No. 8 NJCAA).
