FRESHMAN SEASON (2026)
As a freshman, Layla Hinojosa appeared in a team-high 27 games in the circle, finishing 3-6 with a team-best 3.34 ERA and an FCSAA-leading seven saves. Hinojosa threw two innings to pick up the save in Polk State's season opener and her collegiate debut against Parkland College on Jan. 23. Hinojosa finished with 40 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. Hinojosa picked up her first win by throwing 3.2 scoreless innings and strikine out a season-high five batters in a win over John Melvin Christian College on Feb. 19. She threw a season-high 5.1 innings in a loss to Santa Fe College on May 2. Hinojosa picked up conference wins against Daytona State College on March 31 and in the season finale against College of Central Florida on May 4. 

BIO:
The daughter of Hector and Maria Hinojosa, Layla Hinojosa has siblings named Anabel, Hazel and Reyna. A standout at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Hinojosa was a first-team All-Polk County pitcher in 2024. She also has a cat named Gregory.
