Joining the staff prior to the 2024 season, McNulty is well-known throughout the northeast portion of Polk County.
McNulty began his tenure this summer with 35 years of experience coaching soccer. McNulty hosted the first city-sponsored soccer camp in Haines City in 2004. He currently serves as the president and treasurer of Four Corners FC in Davenport – a club that serves ages 4 and up and currently has more than 400 members.
Polk State will serve as McNulty's first college coaching job, but he's not unfamiliar with college soccer. McNulty spent four years as a defender and goalkeeper at Iona University, an NCAA Division I program in New York. His 104 career saves still ranks in the top 10 in program history.
McNulty earned his bachelor's degree from Iona in 1996 and his master's from Saint Leo University in 2012 – both in criminal justice. A graduate of the police academy at what was then Polk Community College, McNulty spent nearly 20 years in law enforcement, ascending to chief of police at the Haines City Police Department before retiring in 2016.
