Derrick Bennett joined the Polk State Volleyball staff prior to the 2026 season.
A native of Polk County, Bennett brings more than a decade of coaching experience at the club, high school and college levels.
Previous collegiate stops include Southeastern Oklahoma University, Saint Leo University, Florida State University, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Edward Waters University. He held various roles for indoor and beach volleyball teams, including assistant coach and video coordinator.
Bennett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Warner University in Lake Wales. Bennett was a member of the Warner men's volleyball team, spending time as both a libero and a defensive specialist.Â
