Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS – Polk State Softball had St. Thomas University's JV team seeing double. The Eagles completed a doubleheader sweep on Friday with victories by identical 9-1 scores and with each coming in just five innings.

Polk State (3-3) scored three runs in three different innings, including each of the first two, in the first game. The Eagles finished with 12 hits in the first game, including four doubles. Jillian Hudson had two of those doubles and drove in three runs.
Chelsi Rae' Hebert added two hits and a pair of runs. In her season debut, Kailey Guethle went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

In the circle, Baileigh Herrera picked up the first win of her collegiate career. Herrera went the distance for Polk State, allowing just a run on two hits while striking out eight.

In the second game, it was a 7-run fourth inning that turned the contest into a rout. Guethle had a pair of hits for the Eagles. She and Hudson each scored twice. Hebert and Alexis Thomas each recorded doubles in the victory.

For the second time in as many starts, Kyra Ward picked up the victory with a complete game in the circle. Ward allowed just a single hit and struck out seven.

Since an 0-3 start, Polk State has now won three straight games. The Eagles will return home for a doubleheader on Tuesday against No. 1 Florida SouthWestern State College.
