Box Score 2 MELBOURNE — Polk State Softball added another win over a nationally ranked team to its resume on Tuesday — this time on the road. The Eagles split the doubleheader with Eastern Florida State College.
Eastern Florida State rolled to a 9-2 victory in the first game. It seized control with three unearned runs in the second inning. The Titans opened things up with a five-run fifth.Â
Polk State's
Chelsi Rae' Hebert broke up the shutout with a two-run homer — her team-leading seventh of the season. The Titans finished with 16 hits. Ashley Grieser finished with four hits.
Polk State (19-16, 6-10 Citrus Conference) bounced back nicely with a 9-4 win in the second game.
The Eagles broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the fourth. RBI doubles by
Silvia Franzoni and
Jamie Reinhardt highlighted the inning.
Hebert capped the scoring for the Eagles with a three-run home run in the sixth.
Tessa Anderson went the distance in the circle, allowing just two earned runs to pick up the win.
