Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN — For the second time in as many weeks, a top-10 team came to the Diamond Plex. For the second time in as many weeks, it went home with a loss.
After getting run-ruled in the first game of the doubleheader, Polk State Softball salvaged a split with a 10-5 victory over No. 9 Seminole State College of Florida in the second game.

The Raiders struck first with two runs in the top of the first but the Eagles (15-12, 2-6 Citrus Conference) answered with four runs in the bottom half. After Seminole State drew even with two runs in the third, Polk State went ahead for good on
Leia Hurst's RBI groundout in the bottom of the inning.
Polk State opened things up with a five-run fourth.
Chelsi Rae' Hebert followed
Jamie Reinhardt's two-run triple with an RBI triple of her own. Hurst capped the big inning with a two-run home run.
Seminole State finished with 13 hits to seven for the Eagles, but pitcher
Tessa Anderson managed to limit the damage throughout the contest.
Seminole State takes the openerÂ
Anna Green's two-run double in the first inning set the tone as the Raiders rolled to an 8-0 victory in six innings in the first game. In the circle, Skyler Cloud went the distance for Seminole State, yielding just two hits.
Polk State finished with four errors in the field. Hebert had the only two hits for the Eagles.
