Ryan Abrams

Ryan Abrams begins his fourth season as an assistant coach. 
 
Abrams, who teaches history at Winter Haven High School, will enter his 22nd season of coaching baseball.
 
He served as head coach at Ridge Community High School and Mount Dora Christian Academy and as an assistant at Winter Haven High School. 
 
A graduate of Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tenn., Abrams was a four-year starter on the varsity baseball team, earning all-state honors four times and district player of the year twice. Named Tennessee’s 1997 Mr. Baseball, he led his team to the 1995 and 1997 state championships.
 
Abrams played two seasons at Volunteer State Community College. The 1999 team went to the JUCO World Series and the 2000 squad was ranked No. 1 in the nation for most of the year.
 
At Lipscomb University in Nashville, he hit .382 in 2001 -- the highest batting average in school history -- and played on Lipscomb’s first NCAA Division I team.
 
Abrams earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Lipscomb. He and his wife, Beth, have been married for more than 20 years and have four children: Kendall, Megan, Olivia, and Beckett.
