Biography

FRESHMAN SEASON (2025)
Fermaint appeared in 44 games for Polk State as a freshman, batting .231 with 16 RBIs, 30 runs scored, and nine stolen bases. Fermaint had walk-off RBIs in wins over Palm Beach State College (double) on Jan. 25, Lake-Sumter State College (hit by pitch) on Jan. 29 and Ranger College (infield single) on Feb. 8. Fermaint had seven multi-hits games as a freshman, finishing with two hits in each of those. He finished with two RBIs in three games. Fermaint scored a career-high three runs in a 9-6 loss to Indian River State College on March 29. He swiped two bases in a 9-2 win over Hillsborough Community College on March 6. 

BIO:
The son of Kenneth Fermaint and Marilyn Ayala, Fermaint-Ayala played varsity baseball at Wilde Lake High School. During his time there, he played a total of three seasons and posted a .304 batting average, finishing with 31 hits, 34 runs scored, four home runs, and 19 RBIs in 102 at-bats. Nicknamed “Derkishhh,” the Baltimore native is a fan of the Atlanta Braves and outfielder Michael Harris. Fermaint-Ayala enjoys the TV show The Office, eating arroz con pernil y pastel, vacationing in Puerto Rico, working out, and playing baseball. His fondest high school memory is hitting a walk-off home run in the 10th inning of the state playoffs. He has a brother named Kevin.
