FRESHMAN SEASON (2026)
Montenegro appeared in all 54 games for Polk State as a freshman, earning first-team All-Citrus Conference and second-team All-FCSAA honors. The Lakeland native hit .342 with five home runs, 45 RBIs, 52 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Montenegro also led the Eagles with four triples. Montenegro had 18 multi-hit games, including six contests with at least three hits. In a March 12 victory over nationally ranked State College of Florida, Montenegro had a career day, going 5-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, five RBIs and four runs scored. Following the effort, Montenegro was named FCSAA Player of the Week. Primarily a catcher, Montenegro also spent time at third base and in the outfield in 2026, posting a .984 fielding percentage.

BIO:
The son of Roger Montenegro and Elda Zavada, Marvin Montenegro played varsity baseball at Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland for Coach David Saliba. During his time at Santa Fe Catholic, he played 112 games and recorded a batting average of .463 with 156 hits, 91 RBIs, 34 doubles, six triples, nine home runs and 117 runs scored. He was named the Polk County Player of the Year and a Team Florida national champion. When not on the field, Montenegro enjoys golfing and working out, the movie Elf and eating steak. He also has a sibling named Roger.
