REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2025)
The starting catcher for Polk State, Scharff appeared in 44 games during the 2025 season. He finished the year by hitting .267 with one home run -- a game-tying shot in the ninth inning against St. Johns River State College on Feb. 4 -- and 23 RBIs while posting a .400 on-base percentage. Scharff had seven multi-hit games. He tied a career-high with two runs scored and set a career-high with three RBIs against St. Petersburg College on April 10. Scharff had his first walk-off RBI on April 19 with a sacrifice fly in a 1-0 win over Seminole State College of Florida. 

FRESHMAN SEASON (2024 at Eckerd College)
Scharff did not appear in any games during the 2024. He received a redshirt and arrives at Polk State with four years of eligibility remaining. 

BIO:
After spending last season at Eckerd College, Scharff returns to Polk County. A graduate of Lake Wales High School, Scharff batted .329 in 85 career high school games with 79 hits, 18 doubles, three triples, five home runs, and 48 RBIs. Born Oct. 8, 2004, Scharff is the son of Jay and Joanne Scharff. A fan of the New York Yankees and legendary shortstop Derek Jeter, Scharff enjoys eating at Lovebirds, vacationing in Hilton Head, S.C., playing video games, and traveling. His fondest high school memory is hitting a walk-off home run to qualify for the Perfect Game BCS Tournament.
