SOPHOMORE SEASON (2025)
Wright appeared in 23 games as a sophomore, posting a 2-1 record and 45 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. By season's end, he had transitioned to a weekend starter. Wright threw a career-high 4.1 innings in conference contests against Daytona State College on March 22 and St. Petersburg College on April 10. He set a career-high with five strikeouts against Daytona State. Wright's wins came in consecutive appearances on March 18 and 22 against St. Petersburg and Daytona State.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2024)
Wright appeared in 12 games as a freshman, posting a 1-0 record and 6.88 ERA. Wright struck out 18 batters in 17 innings. He picked up his first career win by throwing two innings against Webber International University (B) on Feb. 6.
BIO:
Zane Wright played high school baseball for Head Coach Mike Fryer at Plant City High School. As a senior, Wright picked up seven wins in 14 appearances with an ERA of 2.14. He was recognized as an All-Hillsborough County performer. Nicknamed “Zaner Bug,” Wright is a fan of the Detroit Tigers and pitcher Tarik Skubal. Wright enjoys the show
Brooklyn 99, eating at Chipotle, the beach, golf, video games, and being with friends. His fondest high school memory is throwing a complete game against Lennard High School. Born in Michigan on Feb. 14, 2005, Wright is the son of Jason and Rachel Wright. He has two brothers, Crayden and Bryce.
