2007-08 Men's Basketball Roster
Biography
Jeron Belin spent just one season at then Polk Community College but made a major impact. As a freshman during the 2007-08 season, Belin helped what is now
Polk State College win the Suncoast Conference championship. The Eagles finished 24-6 – the highest win total at the time under Head Coach Matt Furjanic.
In the process, Belin was named a first-team All-Suncoast Conference selection. For the then Vikings, Belin averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting better than 50% from the field. Belin also averaged 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. A native of Connecticut, Belin moved closer to home as a sophomore as he finished his junior college career at Monroe College.
Belin would go on to play NCAA Division I basketball at Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey. After averaging better than eight points and four rebounds as a junior during the 2009-10 season, Belin enjoyed a memorable senior season in which the Peacocks won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament to reach the NCAA Tournament. For the season, Belin averaged 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds before putting up 16.3 points per contest in three MAAC Tournament games to earn MVP honors. Belin helped Saint Peter’s upset the top two seeds in Fairfield University and Iona University to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 16 years and just the third time ever.
