SOPHOMORE SEASON (2025)
As a sophomore, Cortijo started all 16 matches for Polk State. For the season, she registered seven points -- two goals and three assists. Cortijo scored the first goal of the season for Polk State on a penalty kick in an 8-0 win over Millennia Atlantic University on Aug. 22. Her second goal came in a 4-0 win over Trinity Baptist College of Jacksonville on Sept. 13. When Cortijo scored or assisted in 2025, Polk State was 4-0-1. She added assists in wins over Montgomery College on Aug. 29 and then No. 6 Eastern Florida State College on Sept. 16. Cortijo also had an assist in a 1-1 draw with Miami Dade College on Sept. 11.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2024)
Paula Cortijo Garrido appeared in 11 matches with 10 starts for Polk State as a freshman during the 2024 season. Cortijo Garrido scored her first goal in a 5-0 win over Pasco-Hernando State College on Oct. 1 while adding an assist. Her first career assist came in a loss to Daytona State College on Sept. 25. Her two assists was good for fourth on the team.

BIO:
Prior to arriving at Polk State, Cortijo Garrido played soccer around the world. She helped her team win the Mare Nostrum Cup in China and the Lennart Johansson Memorial Trophy in Sweden. The daughter of Juan Cortijo Sanllehy and Ana Maria Garrido Aceituno, she has one sister named Ainhoa. When not on the pitch, she enjoys listening to music, eating burritos, and hanging out with friends.
