A native of Brazil, Dayanna Barbosa enters her first season as head coach for Polk State Volleyball.
Barbosa previously spent four seasons as an assistant under Head Coach German Del Valle. As an assistant, Barbosa helped the Eagles twice reach the national NJCAA Tournament (2019 and 2021). During her first season as an assistant, Polk State was ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Poll for the first time ever.
As a player for Polk State in 2014 and 2015, Barbosa, an outside hitter, helped the Eagles reach the national NJCAA Tournament for the first and second time, respectively, in program history. As a sophomore in 2015, Barbosa was recognized as a first team All-Suncoast Conference and FCSAA All-Tournament Team selection.
Following a stop at Columbus State University, Barbosa would conclude her collegiate career in 2018 at Mars Hill University, an NCAA Division II school in North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education before returning to Polk State to coach in 2019.
