WINTER HAVEN – Polk State Volleyball's 2024 schedule will be small but challenging.
The Eagles are set to play 16 matches this coming season under first-year Head Coach Jessica Beal. Polk State is coming off a 14-10 finish in 2023 while finishing nationally ranked and third place in the ultra-competitive FCSAA.
After not playing a non-conference home match in 2023, Polk State will open the season at the Health Center on Aug. 23 against St. Petersburg College. Following a home-and-home with Webber International University JV on Aug. 27 in Babson Park and Sept. 2 in Winter Haven, the Eagles close non-conference play on Sept. 4 at St. Johns River State College.
Citrus Conference play opens with consecutive home matches against teams that reached the national NJCAA Tournament in 2023. After kicking off the Citrus slate against Daytona State College on Sept. 11, the Eagles take on reigning national runner-up Miami Dade College on Sept. 14.
Polk State will face reigning national champion Florida SouthWestern State College twice – on Oct. 2 in Winter Haven and in the regular season finale in Fort Myers on Oct. 26. The Eagles are scheduled to celebrate Sophomore Day prior to the home finale against Santa Fe College on Oct. 19.
"It's definitely a challenging schedule, but that's what you get every year in Region 8," Beal said. "We look forward to competing against the best in the state and the country."
