Box Score TALLAHASSEE — Polk State Basketball will try to salvage a split at the Region 8 Shootout. The Eagles opened their stay in Florida's capital city with a 92-69 loss to No. 13 Chipola College on Saturday.
Polk State (4-3) started strong.
Isaiah McCray scored nine of the first 15 points to give the Eagles an early 15-10 lead. After
Moises Valdez's 3-pointer tied the game at 20, Chipola seized control with a 26-2 run.
Down 46-22, Polk State would cut the deficit to 10 before the half ended. It responded with a 14-0 run, capped by a McCray trey.

Braylin Wells each scored during the run.
Chipola led 50-36 at the half. The contest was never closer than 13 points in the second half.
Chipola shot 59% and 7-for-13 from deep. The Eagles were held to under 37% shooting.
Dailey and McCray each scored 17 points to lead Polk State. Chipola's Hedrens Bartelus led five Indians in double figures with 16 points.
The loss ends Polk State's three-game winning streak. They'll try to finish their stay in Tallahassee strong as they take on No. 5 Northwest Florida State College on Sunday.
