PREVIEW
• With a solo home run against Seminole State College of Florida last week, Kirsten Aldridge became the first Polk State player to hit 10 homers in a season since 2014. Calonnie Holmes had her third lead-off home run of the season on Saturday, giving her nine for the year.
• Layla Hinojosa picked her FCSAA-leading sixth save of the year in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Hillsborough College.
• Holmes stole her 29th base of the season for Polk State in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Hillsborough. That's the most steals for a Polk State player since record-holder Rose Stevens finished with an FCSAA-leading 64 in 2014.
• With Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Hillsborough, Polk State has now won 20 games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2014 and 2015.
• With doubleheaders against Indian River State College and Santa Fe College this week, Polk State will wrap up its 2026 home slate.
• Polk State was swept by Indian River State in the first doubleheader between the teams in Fort Pierce on March 24. Indian River's Emma Eekhoff ranks leads the FCSAA with 172 strikeouts and ranks fifth with a 1.44 ERA. She allowed a run on eight hits with eight strikeouts in a complete game – a 3-1 victory – against Polk State on March 24.
• Santa Fe also swept Polk State in the first doubleheader in Gainesville on March 28. The Saints hit 11 home runs over those two games. McKenzie Cox was responsible for four of those blasts. She ranks second in the FCSAA with 16 home runs for the season.
