PREVIEW

• After a lengthy hiatus, Polk State will play its second out-of-state invitational with four matches in two days in Hobbs, N.M. Three of those contests will come against ranked teams.

• Polk State sophomore Dublin Fitzgerald is tied for third in the FCSAA, averaging one block per set. Fitzgerald is also averaging a team-best 2.13 kills per set.

• Polk State freshman Adriauna Combs ranks eighth in the FCSAA, averaging 0.46 service aces per set. 

• This season will mark the first time since 2019 that Polk State has twice left the state in the same season. In 2019, the Eagles played in the Rose City Volleyball Classic in Texas and the national NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

PREVIEW

• Polk State bounced back from its first loss with a 7-1 win over Pasco-Hernando State College on Saturday. Oriana Moreno enjoyed a career day with three goals and an assist in the win.

• Polk State currently has four players in the top five in the FCSAA in points. Isabella O'Sullivan ranks third with 12 points (five goals, two assists); Jaycie Noble is fourth with 11 points (five goals, one assist); Kaylin Allen (two goals, four assists) and Moreno (three goals, two assists) are each tied for fifth with eight points.

• Polk State went 0-1-1 against Miami Dade College last season. The Eagles scored late to salvage a 1-1 draw when the teams met in Lakeland. Miami Dade collected a 3-1 win when the teams met in South Florida.

• Polk State's Sofia Zapata and Miami Dade's Julia Suelly rank first and second in the FCSAA in saves with 17 and 16, respectively.
