Eagles drop third straight on the road at SCF

Box Score BRADENTON, Fla. - Polk State Basketball was able to make things interesting late in the second half, but the Eagles ultimately dropped a Friday night showdown at State College of Florida-Manatee, 79-69.

The Eagles (4-5) dropped their third straight contest while the Manatees (7-4) secured their seventh consecutive victory on the hardwood.
 
For the sixth time this season, sophomore guard George Pridgett was the leading scorer for Polk, depositing 24 points -- 19 of which he scored in the second half.
 
Polk was able to keep the contest close in the first half, trailing just 31-29 at the intermission before being outscored 48-40 over the final 20 minutes of action.

Getting the start at center, sophomore center AJ Hamrick was the only other Polk scorer in double digits. He finished with 10 points

Polk will look to get back in the win column on Monday, as the Eagles have a road date with Indian River State College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
