WINTER HAVEN – With a young roster this past season and no shortage of talent returning, a pair of Polk State Basketball players have found new homes at four-year programs.

A 7-foot-0 center, Harold Lee is going the NCAA Division II route. The native of Nigeria has signed with Livingstone College in South Carolina.

"I chose Livingstone College because from the moment I connected with the coaching staff and visited the campus, it felt like home," Lee explained. "They have a clear vision for me – both on the court and in the classroom – and I saw it as a great opportunity to contribute right away, grow as a person and earn my degree."

As a redshirt freshman last season, Lee played in 13 games for the Eagles with one start. He shot an efficient 52% from the field – good for second on the team.

"Polk State was crucial in my development," Lee reflected. "Competing at this level pushed me to elevate my game, sharpen my work ethic and develop the discipline needed to balance challenging academics with athletics. The support from Coach (Brandon) Giles, my teammates and the staff around me made sure that I was mentally and physically ready for the demands of a four-year program."

A native of Canada, sharpshooting guard Marques DaSilva-Romeo was the first Polk State player from the 2025-26 team to sign with a four-year program. He'll be headed home to play for York University in Toronto, part of U Sports – the national governing body for collegiate sports in Canada.

"I chose York because the program was very welcoming," DaSilva-Romeo said. "They really went out of their way to make me feel wanted."

As a freshman last season for Polk State, DaSilva-Romeo averaged 7.3 points and ranked second on the team with 42 made 3-pointers. In his collegiate debut against the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, DaSilva-Romeo finished with 27 points and made seven triples – the most for a Polk State player in nearly seven years.

"Polk State taught me to not let the outside distractions affect me," DaSilva-Romeo added. "I learned to focus on what I'm able to control."

In addition to their on-the-court accomplishments, DaSilva-Romeo and Lee were each among four Polk State Basketball players to earn FCSAA and NJCAA All-Academic Team honors. Both were active in the community, reading to youngsters at a local elementary school.
