Box Score DAYTONA – Polk State Volleyball was no match for No. 18 Daytona State College on Thursday night as the Eagles were taken down in straight sets, 3-0.
Polk State (6-7, 2-3 Suncoast Conference) didn't score more than 17 points in any set in Daytona. It finished with just a .128 attacking percentage, 15 attacking errors, and seven service errors.
The Eagles, however, showed fight throughout, particularly in the third set. After falling behind 8-1, the Eagles crawled to within four on multiple occasions, but could get no closer.
"Give Daytona State a lot of credit," Polk State Head Coach
German Del Valle said. "They were just a lot better than we were tonight. Fortunately, we are getting a little healthier. We have to continue to work hard to get better."

Alanae Margaritha each tallied a team-high seven kills in the loss.
Irene Mostardini led the Eagles with eight digs. With 15 for the night, Madison O'Sullivan led Polk State in assists for the fifth straight match.
Polk State will return home on Saturday, but awaiting it is yet another nationally ranked opponent. No. 5 Miami Dade will be the third ranked opponent in five matches for the Eagles. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
