Box Score TAMPA — Polk State Volleyball's slim FCSAA Tournament hopes fell by the wayside on Wednesday night. The Eagles were eliminated from postseason contention with a 3-0 loss on Wednesday night.
The Hawks rolled to 25-12 and 25-10 victories in the first two sets. Polk State (4-11, 0-10 Citrus Conference) refused to go quietly in the third. The Eagles forced HCC to dig deep but the Hawks prevailed 27-25 to complete the sweep.
Ella Lopez led the Eagles with eight kills and 15 digs. Alexia Ortiz Munoz and
Deyja Tshibangu added seven and six kills, respectively.
Polk State will finish the season with road matches against the top two teams in the NJCAA Poll. The Eagles visit No. 2 Florida SouthWestern State College on Saturday afternoon.
