Box Score MIAMI — Polk State Volleyball can officially look ahead to 2025. The Eagles' season came to an end on Monday night with a hard-fought 3-0 loss to No. 2 Miami Dade College.

For the first two sets, Polk State (4-13, 0-12 Citrus Conference) gave the previously No. 1 Sharks all they wanted. Miami Dade slipped by with back-to-back 27-25 wins in the first two sets before closing things out with a 25-14 victory in the third. With the win, the Sharks clinched a share of the Citrus Conference regular-season title with Florida SouthWestern State College.

"I'm very proud of how the team battled tonight," Head Coach Jessica Beal said. "Even though we came up short, we finished the season by leaving it all out on the court. They played hard against a high-level team and did exactly what I asked them to."

After becoming the first Polk State player in more than a decade to record a triple-double last week, Alexia Ortiz Munoz had another strong effort. She finished with a match-high 12 kills and eight assists.

In her final game with the program, Sofia Sanchez led the Eagles with 18 assists. Isabella Pedrosa paced Polk State with nine digs. Angelica Rodriguez led Miami Dade with eight kills.

The contest concludes Beal's first season at the helm.

"Looking back on the season, I'm proud of how far this group has come," she said. "Each athlete made massive improvement in all areas of the game. I'm most impressed with how each of them has grown mentally. We knew this season wouldn't be an easy ride, but they learned they are capable of doing hard things. That's one of the most important lessons for growth that a young person can learn. I love this group with my whole hard and truly appreciate their efforts this season."
