Box Score 2 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Polk State Softball continued its tough run through Citrus Conference play Thursday evening. The Eagles were swept in convincing fashion by St. Petersburg College by scores of 14-0 and 9-1 respectively.

The Titans put the Eagles away early in game one of the doubleheader, scoring 13 runs on 11 hits and four Polk errors in the bottom of the first.

Nayeli Hernandez single in the top half of the first was the lone hit of the five-inning contest for Polk.

Jillian Hudson on a rip to center field.

However, the Titans went on to score nine unanswered, including four runs in both the third and fourth frames.

Freshman infielder
Gianna Scopano was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate in the game two loss. Scopano is now hitting .500 (4-for-8) over her last three games.

The Eagles now sit at 0-14 in Citrus Conference play and have dropped 16 straight games.

Polk State is back in action on Friday in Tampa to take on Hillsborough Community College. Game times are scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m.
