Box Score WINTER HAVEN -- Polk State Volleyball proved no match for No. 2 Miami Dade College on Saturday. The Eagles were swept by the reigning FCSAA and national runners-up, 3-0.
After falling 25-7 in the opening set, Polk State (3-3, 0-2 Citrus Conference) was far more competitive over the final two sets. It dropped the last two by scores of 25-16 and 25-19, respectively.
Ella Lopez led the Eagles with eight kills.
After opening Citrus Conference play with two home matches, the Eagles will hit the road for the first time in conference on Wednesday. They'll travel to face No. 19 Eastern Florida State College. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
