Box Score WINTER HAVEN — Polk State Volleyball will enter Citrus Conference play on a three-match winning streak and with a .500 record. The Eagles took care of business on Thursday night with a 3-0 sweep of Andrew College.
After beating the Fighting Tigers on Saturday in Melbourne for its most lopsided victory ever, Polk State (5-5) faced little resistance in Thursday night's rematch. The Eagles rolled in straight sets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-7.
Marina Santos led the Eagles with 11 kills.
Ella Langstrom added 10 kills on a remarkable .909 hitting percentage.
The lone home match of September, Polk State also helped a local nonprofit. The Eagles gave free admission to anyone who donated a food item to support Talbot House Ministries.
Winners of three straight and five of seven, the Eagles will begin Citrus Conference play on Wednesday. They'll travel to take on Hillsborough Community College.
