JACKSONVILLE — Polk State Soccer took to the road to face NCAA Division II competition on Saturday night. The Eagles held their own but came up short at Edward Waters University, 4-0.
The Tigers scored a pair of goals in each half. Polk State (6-2-1) had opportunities but just couldn't find the net. The Eagles finished with 14 shots.
In net,
Ashley Miller finished with three saves.
Alexandra Van Lare saw time late in the contest.
"It was one of those nights where nothing went our way," Head Coach Dee Shivraman said. "We worked hard but just it didn't go away. Our first touches were off. We made some silly mistakes. The goal is to get back to basics and prepare for next week."
Polk State will continue its extended road stretch on Wednesday. They'll resume Region 8 action on Wednesday at No. 1 and reigning national champion Daytona State College.
